Item Description

A collaboration item with ceramic artist Mr. Ichinotani, "fake" piling stones made of pottery. A work inspired by the innumerable piling stones that spread across one side of Amano Yasugawara (Miyazaki Prefecture = designer's birthplace). Stacked stones are objects that are still used in many places with various roles such as talismans, faith, and mourning. By mixing two types of soil, the marble pattern like river stone was reproduced, and after two firings, it was thoroughly polished to bring the texture of the stone as close as possible. Sai-no-Kawara, which is the origin of the word piled stone, is said to be a metaphor for ``useless effort'', and the ``just stone'' that was completed as a result of tremendous polishing has a tragic feeling that is similar to Yoshiharu Tsuge's ``incompetent person''. , expresses the designer's own identity and at the same time suggests rethinking the beauty around us.
